My name is Marie-Christine SAGLIER-GALLICHER. I was born on the 10th of June 1962. My dream ought to take up an artistic career (being a stage actress of course !) but I lately joined an amateurs theatrical company. I dared drawing very late as well as a mean of artistic expression though I have been drawing relatives several times in my life. I chose drawing as a mean of telling that I am in love with the sitter. 2) STYLE: self-taught portraitist. For years, I have been admiring Mr. Eric Porter whom every 1967 forsyte saga nostalgic remembered. I wish young viewers could get a yearning to know him. He was a great actor whose fame had no relation to his extraordinary talent as time is concerned. He was a so versatile actor! I do enjoy watching him and listening to him whatever his part was. He never disappointed me. I miss a lot of facts about his personal life because there is no entire biography about him but I do believe that Mr. Eric Porter was a cultivated, reserved and tender-hearted man and obviously a highly secret one. All these reasons and personal ones made it clear to me that I must pay an homage to him through pencil drawings. As a sitter, he is very pleasant to draw thanks to his so expressive glance. I wish my drawings could convey his mighty acting as well as his sensibility. I really hope that thanks to my involvement to Mr. Porter's memory, an author will make a book on his career and his personal life as well. 3) TECHNIC: pencil drawing is to me an homage to photograph and cinema early beginning though Mr. Eric Porter was before all a great classical stage actor I find that black and white is a suitable translation of the nude greatness of his acting together with the loneliness and the sadness that seemed to be his own.
